Now that the weather is cooling off to a comfortable 75 degrees here in the desert (our fall, mind you), it’s time we start thinking comfort food. Hearty, warm, huggable pub fare that makes you feel happy from the inside out. R Bar, our cozy little spot tucked between the lobby and bluEmber, has got what you’re craving. Chef Sean O’Connell has put together a ridiculously satisfying Gastropub menu sure to leave you smiling. And in the spirit of friendship, there are plenty of shared plates that fit the bill of comfort (and joy) at R Bar.
Before you make your first-bite selections, order up a traditional cocktail – the kind served in a speakeasy back in the day. A Moscow Mule in a copper mug, a Gimlet done right, or try one of the phenomenal Bloody Mary options. We’ve put a fresh take on this familiar favorite, eight of them to choose from, full of twists. For the ultimate warm-up, you’ll want to try the Southern Mary, made with Southern Comfort’s new Fiery Pepper. Muy caliente! And if you are of the curious variety, you might prefer a flight of our seasonally-rotated craft beers from Stone Brewery, for sampling the whole lot. 
Velvet White Bean Soup with Truffle Foam
Once your whistle has been wet, do the same for your appetite and try the chef-recommended Velvet White Bean Soup with White Truffle Foam. A sentiment resonating strongly with our theme. For sharing – though you may find the act difficult once you’ve had one – the Chicken Empanadas served with Cheese Fondue for dipping are exceptional. The decadently-prepared Truffle Mac and Cheese reigns supreme as the king of all comfort foods, ranking high on the ‘do’ list. The R Bar menu is robust, thoughtful, and pleasing any way you slice it, a promise wholly fulfilled by Chef O’Connell.
R Bar is also gaining steam in the late-night scene, now offering Reverse Happy Hour ~ Unplugged, on Friday and Saturdays from 10pm-12am. Our live entertainment on those nights features two female musicians, sure to keep the temperatures rising. It’s the desert’s new hub for a nightcap.
